Self-test

Self-test starts the self-test of the ventilation unit. Test results are shown on four test displays. The result of each test can be one of the following:

  • OK — The test was completed successfully.

  • Failed — The test failed. Determine the cause of the problem. You can begin e.g. by checking if any error messages have been registered in the error log (see the section called “Error log”).

  • Not tested — The test could not be performed.

  • Testing... — The test has not yet been performed.

To perform a self-test:

  1. Select Settings:

  2. Use the arrow buttons to select Service menu:

  3. Select OK:

  4. Use the arrow buttons to select Self-test:

  5. Select OK:

    The unit will request confirmation:

  6. Select OK:

The Test display display 1/4 opens:

The data is divided into four displays. Use the arrow buttons to alternate between the displays. The information includes:

    • Operating efficiency — This test ensures that the efficiency of the ventilation unit is sufficient.

If the test fails, the most likely reason is that the heat recovery cell has become frozen and needs to be defrosted (see the section called “Cell defrost”). If the heat recovery cell is not frozen, the ratio between the incoming and outgoing air flows may be erroneous. In such a case, contact a qualified specialist.

      Note

Performing the test in summer is not recommended, as the indoor and outdoor temperatures are too similar and therefore unfavourable for testing efficiency. In this case, the test result can be Not tested.

    • Heat recovery bypass — This test ensures that the heat recovery cell has been successfully bypassed.

      Note

The test should never be performed in summer when the indoor and outdoor temperatures are too similar and unfavourable to testing the efficiency. In this case, the test result can be Not tested.

    • Heaters — This test ensures that the heaters of the ventilation unit work properly. The results of the two-part test are shown on a Test display 2/4 display:

      • Post-heating — This test ensures that the post-heater installed in the ventilation unit is working properly. If no post-heater has been installed, the test result can be Failed.

      • Additional heating resistor — This test ensures that the additional heating resistor installed in the ventilation unit is working properly. If no additional heating resistor has been installed, the test result can be Failed.

    • Temperature sensors — This test reads the temperature sensors of the ventilation unit. The results of the six-part test are shown on Test display 3/4 and 4/4 displays:

      • Supply air — The temperature of the supply air sensor.

      • Supply from cell — The temperature of the supply air sensor of the heat recovery cell.

      • Exhaust air — The temperature of the exhaust air sensor of the ventilation unit.

      • Outdoor air — The temperature of the outdoor air sensor of the ventilation unit.

      • Extract air — The temperature of the extract air sensor of the ventilation unit.

      • Optional sensor — The temperature of the external sensor of the ventilation unit.

  7. Select Back to terminate the self-test where required.

  8. The unit will request confirmation. Select OK:
